Hi guys! Today I want to talk to you guys about this amazing opportunity that was brought to me by one of my leadership advisers! Since the holiday season is upon us, Share Necessities, a non-profit organization, is holding a fundraiser throughout Dec. 19 in an effort to feed the homeless a healthy me as well as provide them with a care package that includes socks, a hygiene kit and a beanie. This event will take place at OPCC in Santa Monica where a celebrity chef and volunteers will help prepare the meal. This fundraisers goal is to reach $3,000 by the 19th and we need everyone's help. Please donate as much or as little as you can because even the smallest donations help, and it's honestly for a great cause and it's an awesome opportunity for you to help out the community. ***Also, For every $50 donation, you will receive a free Share Necessities t-shirt! You can donate at www.share-necessities.org/donate. Please help out in the spirit of the holidays! Share with your friends as well!!! Visit their page @ http://www.share-necessities.org/
Hey guys! This is going to be a more personal blog post as I feel like I need to introduce myself further and I think it would be nice for you to know a bit more about me. To kick-start this post, I'll start off by introducing myself as Helder. That is my unique first name. Haven't heard of it before, am I right? Or maybe you have, just spelled differently? I'm a big dreamer with feet that want to go places and accomplish great things. My interests are music; I'm a huge Bey stan and also indulge in some kpop, writing, dancing/singing in my alone time and I'm a social butterfly so I don't mind being around people at all. I wish to one day publish my own magazine that people will enjoy while drinking their favorite coffee. Call me Anna Wintour Jr maybe? This blog is just the start and I hope it grows to something bigger. I have high hopes.
Hey guys! So this is my 2nd official blog post and I wanted it to be related to music somehow, so I'll be talking about this video I stumbled upon while looking for Ruby Rose's 'Break Free' video. So first things first, the artist of this song is Hayley Kiyoko!!! If you've seen the Scooby Doo movies, then I'm pretty sure you know who she is. She played the role of Velma Dinkley! Not only that but she was a member of the group 'The Stunners'. Major throwback!
So....anyway, I fell in love with the song on the first listen. I felt that Hayley was the underrated member of the group so when I heard it my, young heart lit up. At first I had no idea who was singing until I realized the girls in the videos were actually familiar actresses. (A.N.T. Farm; Teen Wolf)
If you didn't know my type of music besides everything Beyonce makes, this would be it. The chill melody and vocals are reminiscent of Lana Del Rey and Melanie Martinez, but also Halsey. And yes a I said chill. What I also absolutely loved about it was the message "Girls like Girls like Boys Do, nothing new." It's very important and I'm glad Hayley feels this way about it. I really had no idea Hayley would do a concept like this. It's really empowering and she's definitely a celeb people should look up to for coming out with a song with this theme. I applaud the actresses as well for committing to this role, even if you're a Disney or a teen actress. This video took me by surprise but i loved everything about it. 5/5 stars! Until next time
After taking a break for a semester, I'm finally back! Some of my friends already graduated just last semester so that's cool. I had forgotten the feeling of being on campus and around people who are set on finding a career and making something of themselves. What I love about this school is the diversity of cultures you encounter and the atmosphere this school as a whole gives off. I also love the fact that people dress up one day and then dress down the next. That's kind of irrelevant but cool and interesting.
I'm only doing 9 units this semester so it's not too bad. My classes are great and so are my professors. There's not much to say about that. I'm always going on little adventures around here with friends or by myself so I'll definitely be updating this blog. Until next time!
